Blogging Again and Transformation

I have been horrible at blogging.  I hope to get back into it more.  I finally got permission from a shaggy haired boy to give him a trim.  Here are the before and after shots.

What We Did Last Summer

I got quite behind on my summer blogging.  I am trying to catch up with a series of 'What We Did Last Summer' posts.

On the 4th of July we played with sparklers and I set the shutter to be open longer and was able to capture some cool light shots.  This is M. with two sparklers.

In June, B. was baptized.  It was a very special event for B. and our family.

We had the opportunity to head out to MN lake country.  A family invited us out to their lake home for a weekend.  The kids had a blast riding the kayaks.  Everyone caught on very quickly.  I even learned to surf behind a speed boat and Jen not so much.
 

Halloween 2012

It was another great Halloween at our house this year.  Lots of screams all night long from children and adults.  Had all of the remote controlled pneumatics running as well as live action scares too.  Had two friends helping out this year.  Once handed out candy from the back of the hearse while the other hid under a white sheet dressed as a zombie and jumped out at people as they came to get candy.   I walked around the graveyard or laid in the open grave and listened to people as they realized that I was 'real' and not decoration.  Kids went out with their friends walking through our neighborhood.  We had a total of around 14 kids (ours included) going as a group house to house.   Didn't get good pics this year, hopefully next year.

Pot Pies and Snow

Recently, Jen made personal pot pies.  They were amazing and fun at the same time.  Gotta love Fiestaware.

Yesterday a snow storm passed through the area.  The kids were overjoyed that it had snowed.  They put some snow gear on and went outside to play before they had to get ready for Church.  Once Halloween is over we hope that it will begin to snow so we can have some winter fun!

Graveyard and Grandparents

It is Halloween time again.  This year I made tombstones for the graveyard.  Tried to come up with funny names and epitaphs.  The local newspaper even came by and took pictures to run for a seasonal decoration story.

The kids had a two day teacher in-service so we scheduled with my parents to visit.  The kids really enjoyed seeing their grandparents.

It came as a surprise to me to see a 'Romney' support sticker on my parents vehicle.  Thought that they were Obama supporter.

Skating, Teeth and Butterflies

 It has been way too long since I last posted.  So much has happened to our family in the past 6 months.  Here are a couple of fun things that has happened to us this past month.

Jen bought some rollerblades and has been skating with the kids.

D. lost his first tooth (bottom left) which is hard to see because there was a huge tooth right behind it.

D. was so happy that he finally got to use his birthday present from last year.  It was a butterfly kit and we were not able to order the butterflies because we were right in the middle of the move from WV.  We ordered his butterflies, he 'raised' 5 caterpillars and was able to release them after they morphed into butterflies. 

SNOW!!!

We had an awesome snow storm this past Monday. Finally enough to get in the yard and play. I shoveled the entire drive into a pile so the kids could have a nice pile to play with.

S made a fort until they started playing King of the Hill and M collapsed it in on him. After that they decided to make a small sledding hill and had a blast.

We love snow!
